Through a partnership between the Office of Equity and Access (OEA), within the Division of School Climate and Wellness, and the Office of Organizational Development and Effectiveness (ODE), within the Division of the Chief Operating Officer, tens of thousands of educators and central employees have participated in Implicit Bias Awareness workshops. We are now offering this workshop online with a goal of reaching over 140,000 staff members.

A Message on Behalf of the Executive Directors

New York City Department of Education employees interact with students and make decisions on behalf of students daily. Therefore, it is essential that we examine our own personal beliefs, biases, experiences, and identities to best serve our students and that we understand how to address implicit bias and utilize culturally responsive practices.
